In an extraordinary act of courage and selflessness, Ukrainian-born Myhailo Yavorskyi, who lived majority of his life in the United States (25 years to be exact), couldn’t just watch from afar the unjust atrocities which Russia was committing in Ukraine, and made a profound choice when conflict erupted on Ukrainian soil. Leaving behind the comforts of his settled life and his loving family, he flew to a war-torn Ukraine to defend its people from the unjustified Russian invasion.

He understood that the outcome of this struggle held ramifications far beyond Ukraine's borders. It was a pivotal moment in history, a test of the world's commitment to justice, democracy and freedom. With every fiber of his being, he fought not just for Ukraine, but for the universal values of democracy and human dignity, and that is what he lost his life for on May 25th, 2022.

With every step Myhailo took on Ukrainian soil, he embodied the spirit of defiance against injustice, a beacon of hope amidst the darkness of conflict. His conviction, his courage, and his sacrifice will echo through the ages, inspiring others to stand firm in the face of adversity and tyranny.

Myhailo’s courageous and selfless act of personal sacrifice became a symbol of bravery and what it means to be Ukrainian for many, and served as an inspiration behind this nonprofit organization.  As a result, we have been able to provide a substantial amount of critical aid to Ukraine so far.  As the war in Ukraine is far from being over, we continue honoring Myhailo and his ultimate sacrifice and supporting Ukrainians as they fight for their freedom.
